|Please let others in your unit and council know that, through Google Translate, we have resources for the 500,000 Scouts and their families who do not speak English as their primary (native) language.|
Just e-mail a link of this page to those who need help in another language.
Alternatively, you can also change this page to their language and then print it as an invitation.
Just click the "Languages" link in the "sidebar" (to the left) then click on your language, such as Spanish (Español) to view the website in that language!
Also offered (but, less accurate):
|Armenian (հայերեն)||Basque (Euskal)||Haitian Creole (kreyòl ayisyen)||Azerbaijani (Azərbaycan)||Georgian (საქართველოს)||Urdu (اردو)|
|NOTE: You can also visit Google Translate to check for language updates.|
To switch back to English:
- Click the View Original Web Page link at the top of the page.
You can print information for parents of different cultures...
- A Cubmaster could print Pinewood Derby information for Spanish-speaking parents.
- A Den Leader could print the requirements for the Citizenship Belt Loop for Vietnamese parents.
- A Scoutmaster could print the Camping Checklist in Tagalog for Filipino parents.
Please remember that, per our own Disclaimers (POLICY), "MeritBadge.org is an online, open-content, collaborative encyclopedia developed by volunteers and is not affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) or with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM)."
So, while the translation service offered is not perfect, it's still a great tool for those whose native language is not English.
Since 2002, the BSA has offered 12 pages of materials in Spanish: http://www.scoutingvalelapena.org/. Five hanbooks were translated into Spanish: Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and "Mini" Boy Scout Handbook as well as some fliers.
