Arrow of Light award resources include the Worksheet Adobe Acrobat PDF, Webelos Adventures Worksheets,
and links to related Cub Scout Belt Loops & Pins and Cub Scout Awards.
The Webelos Program shows you how to cover all required & elective Pins.
The Fast Tracks give you the Den Meeting plans to do this in an efficient manner.

On 01 Jun 2015, new requirements went into effect. Boys who had already earned their Webelos rank by then were able to earn their Arrow of Light award using the previous activity badges or the current (new) adventure pins, or a mix of the two as desired. However, given that the Webelos rank used to require six months of active membership, and that boys can only be Webelos for two years, that option has expired. As of 2017, boys must use the current (new) requirements).

(Boy Scouting)

The highest rank & award in Cub Scouting is the Arrow of Light. It is one of the few Cub Scout badges that you can wear on your Boy Scout uniform. You will work on outdoor skills, physically fitness, and learn more about citizenship and working with others. Upon completion of the requirements for Arrow of Light, you can bridge into a Boy Scout troop. Webelos Scouts that are working toward their Arrow of Light rank & award are commonly called Arrow of Light Scouts, similar to the younger ranks in Cub Scouting.

The Arrow of Light award is worn on the left pocket flap of the blue Cub Scout Uniform or below the left pocket of the tan Boy Scout Uniform.

Like all other new Cub Scouts, an Arrow of Light Scout must first earn his Bobcat rank. After completing the requirements for Bobcat he may go on to complete the requirements for the Arrow of Light rank and the many electives that are offered for his rank.

All Cub Scouts, except for those boys who join Cub Scouting for the first time in fifth grade, must earn their Webelos rank prior to earning Arrow of Light. The requirements for Webelos and Arrow of Light may be worked on at the same time but the tenure requirements for each must be met and the awards must be earned and presented sequentially.

Arrow of Light requirements

  1. Be active in your Webelos den for at least six months since completing the fourth grade or at least six months since becoming ten years old.
  2. Complete each of the four required Adventures.
  3. In addition to the four required adventures listed above, complete at least one elective Adventure of your den's or family's choosing (for a total of at least five adventures).
  4. With your parent, guardian, or other caring adult, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide.
  5. Earn the Cyber Chip award for your age. (The Cyber Chip portion of this requirement may be waived by your parent or guardian if you do not have access to the internet.)
  • For each adventure, the Webelos Scout must complete the requirements as outlined in the Webelos Handbook. Requirement 7 of Bobcat and requirement 4 of Webelos and Arrow of Light are identical. If a Cub Scout earns his Bobcat rank during the same year that he begins working on his Webelos or Arrow of Light rank, he needs to complete the requirement only one time.
