Here are knots for Fishing and Fly Fishing merit badges as well as the Venturing Fishing (Ranger Award elective).

Arbor Backing Knot

Arbor Backing Knot

The Arbor Knot attatches the line to the fishing reel Arbor.

Blood Knot

The Blood Knot is a simple and secure means to tie two lines together, even if they are different sizes.

Blood Loop

Blood Loop

Required for

Clinch Knot

The Clinch knot is used to tie fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel. Do not use with heavy line.

Fisherman's Knot

The Fisherman's knot is used to tie two fishing lines or ropes of equal size together. One benefit is that it makes a very small knot.

Improved Clinch Knot

The Improved Clinch Knot like the original Clinch Knot is used to tie fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel. The Improved Cinch Knot has an extra tuck under the final turn. Do not use with heavy line.

Nail Knot

Nail Knot

The Nail Knot is used to tie two different weight lines together such as attaching a leader to a fly line.
