Troop Committee

Main: Troop Committee
Varsity Team positions are very similar.

Chartered Organization Representative - the direct contact between the unit and the Chartered Organization. The Chartered Organization Representative appoints the Unit Committee Chair.

Troop Committee Chair - appointed by the chartered organization to appoints and supervise the unit committee and unit leaders.

Secretary - keeps minutes and records, sends notices, and handles publicity.

Troop Treasurer - handles troop funds, pays bills, maintains accounts, coordinates the annual Friends of Scouting campaign, and supervises fundraising.

Advancement Coordinator responsibilities:

Equipment Coordinator - works with the quartermaster and is responsible inventory, storage, and maintenance of unit equipment.

Activities Coordinator - secures tour permits and permission to use camping site, serves as transportation coordinator, ensures a monthly outdoor program.

Troop Membership Coordinator - helps ensure a smooth transition of new Scouts into the unit and orientation for new parents.

Troop Training Coordinator - ensures training opportunities are available, maintains training records and materials, and is responsible for BSA Youth Protection training.

Troop Chaplain - provides spiritual tone, guides the chaplain aide, gives spiritual counseling, and promotes the regular religious participation of each member.

Advisers: Scoutmaster - the adult responsible for working directly with the Scouts to help them create the program for the troop. The Scoutmaster trains boy leaders to run the troop by providing direction, coaching, and support.

& Assistant Scoutmaster - one of the adult leaders age 18 or over who assist the Scoutmaster in delivering the troop program.
