User Warnings, Cautions, Notices

All User warnings, cautions and notices are categorized as warnings. So, just because it's classified as "warning", don't fret... if you find a User warning template has been placed on your User/talk page, simply read it and then, remove it from your user/talk page; this will signify that you've read it and will comply. Then, go back and look for any your recent "contributions" that were "reverted" or "rolled-back" (or, possibly, just re-edited... but, due to you edit).

Even so, you really don't want to get more than a couple of these. In other words, even though we really, really want you to contribute to the wiki, it's best to familiarize yourself with the policies, help pages, Community portal, and current events, etc.

Wikipedia has four warning levels... Levels 1-4 (not including Level 0); we only have one (also, not including Level 0).

User warnings - Level 1

Note: See each template for details.

User warning: Chat (Level 1)

{{Uw-chat1}} — For minor, (and also, probably unintended) use of talk pages for chatting, etc.

User warning: Vandalism (Level 1)

{{Uw-vandal1}} — For minor, silly or harmless (and, probably unintended) vandalism. (Note, however, real vandals don't get any warning; they just get booted.)

User warning: IS-PII-YPT (Level 1)

{{Uw-ypt1}} — For violation of BSA or MeritBadgeDotOrg internet safety, personally identifiable information or youth protection policies.

User warnings - Level 0

Profane, disrespectful, or otherwise abusive editing causes a user to simply be blocked (banned) by an administrator. "Level 0" indicates a user has been blocked (by an administrator) and merely specifies the reason why. So, "Level 0" User warning templates are administrative reporting tools, rather than actual warnings.

User warning: Vandalism (Level 0)

{{Uw-vandal0}} — Self-explanatory.
