Suggested change to naming convention of Userboxes

I recommend we change all Userboxes from "User <Userbox name>" to simply, "<Userbox name>". Example:

From: MeritbadgeDotOrg:Userboxes/User District Award of Merit
  To: MeritbadgeDotOrg:Userboxes/District Award of Merit

Reasoning: If we categorize Userboxes correctly, which we do, then they all end up under "U". If we make the above suggested change, we can have hundreds of Userboxes which will be much easier to find when browsing the category Category:Userboxes. As it currently stands, it's pretty tough to wade through the few dozen we already have.

All Userboxes will be required to be placed in one of the two following places:

For all users: MeritbadgeDotOrg:Userboxes/<PAGENAME>
Personal ones: User:<USERNAME>/Userboxes/<PAGENAME>

I realize a few things, already... this change will:

  • clearly involve some work, i.e., tracking down "what links here" for each UBX already in use; and
  • have some affect on the results when using the Search feature; but, I don't think it will be a negative impact;

I have a question: why are some userboxes under the MeritbadgeDotOrg namespace? Maybe I don't understand namespaces enough, but when I look at similar stuff on Wikipedia, they are all under the Template namespace.

Anyway, I recently created MeritBadgeDotOrg:WikiProject Userboxes, but now it seems to duplicate the existence of this page. Which method should we use? I put an {{Otheruses}} redirect on the top of both the MeritBadgeDotOrg:Userboxes and MeritBadgeDotOrg:WikiProject Userboxes pages. I think that they should be combined into one, it doesn't really matter to me which way we do it.
