Cub Scout Belt Loops & Pins: Art - Music
It is unclear to me how leatherwork is related to the Cub Scout art belt loop or pin. It is far less clear to me how it might be related to the music belt loop or pin. If someone else could clarify this point in the article, I would be most appreciative. Leatherwork is a classic scout craft, and I'm sitting at the dining room table preparing for day camp trying to find a reference to leather work in one of the Cub Scout handbooks. Oh, I wish they were indexed! -Howarthe 21:39, February 27, 2014 (EST)
Webelos Activity Badges: Artist - Craftsman - Showman
I cannot find any way in which a leather working activity could be used to meet any requirement for the artist or the showman activity badge. I did find this requirement for the craftsman badge that works quite well.
Craftsman Requirement 4: "Make four useful times using materials other than wood that you and your Webelos den leader agree on, such as clay, plastic, leather, metal, paper, rubber, or rope. These should be challenging items and must involve several operations" ~Webelos Handbook, Page 199.
If anyone has any insights as to how one might use a leather craft activity to fulfill a requirement of the artists or showman badge, I would very much appreciate it if you would add such insights to the article. Thank you. -Howarthe 23:48, February 27, 2014 (EST)
