Scribe vs. Librarian

This page states: "Your Scribe is the person responsible for maintaining your merit badge library.". I thought the Librarian would be responsible for the MB Library? Is this a typo perhaps? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jayclary (talkcontribs) Apr 8, 2010. (Please, sign and date your posts on talk pages.)

Merit Badge Pamphlet Copyright Violations

While this web site is entirely dedicated to helping Scouts advance, e.g., resources such as worksheets, there is still no replacement for our "No. 1" rule of guidance for all Scouts wanting to earn a Merit Badge: "Read the Merit Badge pamphlet."

We cannot (or allow links to web sites that) host unapproved scans of any BSA Merit Badge pamphlets, as this violates BSA copyright. So, please help us by:

  • ensuring that you do not upload unapproved "scans" of Merit Badge pamphlets to MeritBadgeDotOrg, and
  • remove any links (that you may find here) to web sites hosting unapproved "scans" of Merit Badge pamphlets.

The only Merit Badge pamphlets that we know to currently be publicly available in "electronic" form are the four 2010 Centennial "Historical" Merit Badges (Carpentry, Pathfinding, Signaling and Tracking) -- technically, it's eight... the four originals and the four 2010 versions.

It's not a question of if, but when the National Council changes this policy... then, we'll change ours. —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 18:10, April 15, 2010 (EDT)
