I'll leave the split to someone else. There are a couple things to note:
 +
* First, the Supernova Activity Topics for Boy Scouts and Venturers are identical.
 +
* Also, the Venturers have Venturer STEM Explorations that have the same names as the Boy Scout Merit Badges (see the "Venturer STEM Exploration" paragraph in the Venturer section for details). &mdash;Jay 17:06, July 22, 2012 (EDT)

Would it look better if we broke these out with locked boxes for the requirements like other requirements? Jzweiac 22:31, July 26, 2012 (EDT)

:Yeah; I'm still not sure of the best way to break this massive page into smaller pieces. FWIW, I'm not all that keen on the sub-pages I noted in TO DO (above). But, I do agree, we'll probably need to "wrap" the "Reqs". &mdash;RWSmith <small>(Bureaucrat)</small>, 16:04, July 27, 2012 (EDT)

How old are these awards? I think they are great, but I've been in Cub Scouting for a long time, and I am only just hearing about them? -Howarthe 13:39, August 14, 2012 (EDT)

:They are brand new, which is why you haven't heard of them before. They were being piloted in some councils in 2010 and 2011. They are now being rolled out nationally. Nicouds 00:15, August 27, 2012 (EDT)

NOVA Awards

Image:Arr r.png NOTE: This topic has been moved from User_talk:RWSmithTalk:NOVA Awards. RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 17:47, July 21, 2012 (EDT)

I'm fighting my way through the new Nova Awards article. There is a lot if information. I think, that when I'm finished, the article may need to be split into separate articles for Cub, Scout, and Venturer just to make it more readable. Jay 15:54, July 21, 2012 (EDT)

No problem, Jay. You (we, et al) can easily make the initial data entries into one "big" article, which we can just as easily split up, later. Frankly, that's my usual course (preference), too. I mean, yeah, 'there's more than one way to skin a cat'; but, to me, it just seems easier that way. —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 17:47, July 21, 2012 (EDT)
Then that's the plan! --Jay 17:51, July 21, 2012 (EDT)
P.S. Wow! You weren't kidding! That's a lot of stuff! —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 18:23, July 21, 2012 (EDT)

TO DO

 1. Make relevant upper- and lower-case STEM and Nova shortcuts.
 2. Right off the top of my head... the page splits could, kinda-sorta, maybe, look something like this:
 • NOVA Awards This page should contain an overview of the program and serve as the "Portal" to the sub-pages.
 • NOVA Awards/Cub Scouts
 • NOVA Awards/Cub Scouts/Nova
 • NOVA Awards/Cub Scouts/Supernova
 • NOVA Awards/Webelos/Supernova
 • NOVA Awards/Boy Scouts
 • NOVA Awards/Boy Scouts/Nova
 • NOVA Awards/Boy Scouts/Supernova
 • NOVA Awards/Venturing
 • NOVA Awards/Venturing/Nova
 • NOVA Awards/Venturing/Supernova

NOVA navbox

I started a navbox for this page. See: NOVA navbox. I also see this being broke out into different pages, maybe like the Hornaday award is? Jzweiac 00:13, July 24, 2012 (EDT)

FINISHED!

I'll leave the split to someone else. There are a couple things to note:

 • First, the Supernova Activity Topics for Boy Scouts and Venturers are identical.
 • Also, the Venturers have Venturer STEM Explorations that have the same names as the Boy Scout Merit Badges (see the "Venturer STEM Exploration" paragraph in the Venturer section for details). —Jay 17:06, July 22, 2012 (EDT)

Requirements

Would it look better if we broke these out with locked boxes for the requirements like other requirements? Jzweiac 22:31, July 26, 2012 (EDT)

Yeah; I'm still not sure of the best way to break this massive page into smaller pieces. FWIW, I'm not all that keen on the sub-pages I noted in TO DO (above). But, I do agree, we'll probably need to "wrap" the "Reqs". —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 16:04, July 27, 2012 (EDT)

History

How old are these awards? I think they are great, but I've been in Cub Scouting for a long time, and I am only just hearing about them? -Howarthe 13:39, August 14, 2012 (EDT)

They are brand new, which is why you haven't heard of them before. They were being piloted in some councils in 2010 and 2011. They are now being rolled out nationally. Nicouds 00:15, August 27, 2012 (EDT)
