Poisonous vs venomous

For requirement 4.c.1., the correct terminology is venomous, not poisonous, when talking about snakes.

Existing Requirement:

4.c. Reptiles and Amphibians

1. Show that you can recognize the poisonous snakes in your area.

Suggested Requirement:

4.c. Reptiles and Amphibians

1. Show that you can recognize the venomous snakes in your area.

Woodhamc, thanks for your post... well stated. Please see usssp.com/mb/proposals.asp for a good explanation about, 'How to submit a proposal for new or revised merit badges'. Please note, unfortunately, the link to the Innovation Engine (ideas.scouting.org) referenced at the bottom of that page is no longer open to us little people — you now must be a BSA employee in order to log in there.
