This is a workpage... Workpages are pages that are under development by Administrators (Sysops), or contributors who are assisting us by improving the web site's function and ease of use. This workpage should be considered informative, rather than authoritative, unless and until it is adopted by the Administrators; as such, only Administrators should remove a workpage tag. Unlike Articles that need to be expanded, which are Scouting-related (and located in the main namespace), workpages are geared toward MediaWiki and located in other namespaces, such as, Help:, Template:, and MeritBadgeDotOrg:. Even so, you are welcome to help us work on this page. If you prefer, you can present your ideas on the talk page. Thank you -- The MeritBadgeDotOrg Administrators

This is the documentation page for Template:-/doc.
When viewed directly, links using variables may appear broken; do not replace these with hard-coded page names or URLs.

Note: {{Clear}} does the exact same thing and this template should only be used if {{Clear}} does not work where it needs to be placed in the wikitext.

Use {{-/doc}} after any floating elements and before elements you do not wish to float together with the first set.

Contents

Details

{{-}} contains the markup:

<br clear="all" />

This causes any previously-established float to clear.

The unusual name of this template is a mnemonic for an imaginary horizontal line, which separates floating elements above from those below. Some editors prefer the mnemonic {{clr}} ("clear"), which simply redirects here.

Example

Template:Wrapper | align="center" | Template:Lts |- | starts a table floating right e.g. for an
infobox next to the ToC. For better
examples check out the links. Please
add missing {{-}} where necessary.

This ugly table is only a quick example. |}

First

  • Cute, but less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.

Second

  • Cute, but
    less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.

In the first example {{-}} after the word browser guarantees that the table doesn't float into the second example. In the second example the position of {{-}} is after the word but. Note that it doesn't affect the left margin of the bullet * list, because it's used inside of it. Template:Wrapper | align="center" | Template:Lts |- | starts a table floating right e.g. for an

Third

  • Cute, but

less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.

Fourth

  • Cute, but

less funny if it overlaps the next table or section, causing horizontal scrolling or worse depending on the browser.

The third example has {{-}} after the word browser, and only a new line after the word but. The fourth example has {{-}} and a new line after the word but.
