This template indicates the independent verification that the associated file has been test and found to be free of malicious code, at the time it was scanned.

This template must always be substituted.

There are two variables associated with this template:

  • {{PAGENAME}} .... indicates the associated file name (where the template is placed), and
  • ~~~~ .... will insert the administrator's signature, including time & date stamp. (Hence, the necessity to substitute this template.)

On page, Image:Archery.pdf...

....will result in:

Archery.pdf was tested by an Administrator and found to be free of malicious code. —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 14:36, February 21, 2011 (EST)
While this is a pro-active effort on our part, it is not a guarantee. Regardless of the source, you should always "scan" your downloads. (See Cyber Security Tips at uscert.gov.)

Applying this template will categorize the page where applied into [[Category:Clean|{{PAGENAME}}]].

Usage Restrictions

This template must only be:

  • applied by administrators, and
  • placed on the file descriptions of certain uploaded files (located in the "Image:" (a.k.a., "Media") namespace).

File types

The following file types are permitted to be uploaded on this wiki:

*.gif, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.svg, *.png, *.pdf, *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, *.wav, and *.mp3
  • Note: Not all file types are capable of carrying a malicious payload. (More on that, later.)
