Great little do-dad you have there! Does it pop up a different merit badge every day at random? Is there a step-by-step process to add it for those of us not as web-savvy?
Also, you guys seem to have a LOT going on with your troop. Have you submitted the Merit Badge info to meritbadge.info? EagleForumFan 04:54, December 14, 2007 (EST)
Thanks for responding!
Each day it will pop up a different merit badge -- cycles through them in alphabetical order.
What documentation I've written is at
If you want to add the index to a webpage, hit the "Embed this gadget" button just below "Merit Badge Index". This will take you to a configuration page at Google.com that will
1. Let you set user preferences:
On WorthingtonScouts.org, "local_resource" is set to "http://worthingtonscouts.org/worth_mb_v01.xml". This adds information about Worthington area MB events to the index. If you enter the URL to worth_mb_v01.xml into the configuration panel, the index will refresh and you'll see the local information.
2. "Get the code":

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I've only been lurking on meritbadge.org until the past day or so. Before I publicize this widely, I need to make sure that the meritbadge.org admins are okay with the index gadget linking the merit badge images from meritbadge.org -- it uses their bandwidth and intellectual property. I'm not expecting a problem, but it's always good manners to ask and they might suggest some changes.

Our district includes 5 suburbs of Columbus, OH. I was asked to do WorthingtonScouts.org by Worthington's Assistant District Commissioner to help promote District and Community events. I started adding additional articles and features to draw people in so that they would look at the event information. The site has gotten gloriously out of hand, but I'm having fun with it.
Thanks for your help!
