Why was this reverted? The link I removed is 404, and I changed backpacker.com to say that it was Backpacker Magazine's website. Any reason to undo that? --Epmatsw 14:14, June 18, 2007 (EDT)

Well, there was no summary for the edit, which, although not required, it sure helps sysops, a lot, when patrolling. I missed your correcting the broken link and thought you were deleting the one while adding the other. Now, with your question, I went back and looked very closely at what you're talking about... My mistake for sure. I'm sorry. I should not have reverted it; I should've edited it. (I know it's no excuse; but, I'm still getting to used to the wiki thing, too.) --RWSmith 19:02, June 18, 2007 (EDT)
No, it's fine, I've seen those weird links on a couple of pages, so I figured when you undid this that maybe you guys had them there for a reason and I shouldn't get rid of them. Thanks for clarifying though. Epmatsw 19:03, June 18, 2007 (EDT)

    requirements out of date

The merit badge requirements listed here are not current. --Howarthe 19:50, May 15, 2016 (EDT)

arg 4 of Merit Badge header

This page has a fourth argument to {{Merit Badge header}} that says "lesson video links,". I couldn't find that appearing on the page, and I don't see a reference to it in the template. Seems like either it should be deleted (and then the "Hiking" that I added as arg 3 can be deleted), or it should be added to the template. Jordan Brown 23:13, March 7, 2019 (EST)

yeah, that 4th argument was eliminated previously in merit badge header, but no one went back to remove the 4th arguments from the merit badge articles. Thanks for noting the issue and trying to resolve. We're in the midst of switching all of the workbook links to point to usscouts.org so that we don't have to maintain a copy here on meritbadge.org and also on usscouts.org. So we are using the 3rd argument to pass in a filename so that we can link to right file on usscouts.org, but we only need the 3rd argument if the merit badge name is more than one word. As you found, though, there are still some issues with getting this to work throughout. I just scrubbed the remaining merit badges to remove the 4th argument and to add the 3rd argument for the file name when appropriate. Let me know on my talk page or on the talk page for the relevant merit badge if you find any more issues. We still need to get to fixing the workbook links for cub scouts, nova stem awards, etc, but the merit badges and Scout ranks should be good. — Nicouds 16:45, March 8, 2019 (EST)
